Our approach focuses on four main components: the IAP Newsletter & Online Outreach, the Mentoring Program, Cultural Community Workshops, and the Online Resources Directory for Immigrant Artists.

The IAP Newsletter is sent out via email and posted online every two weeks. The newsletter lists timely information on upcoming opportunities and events of particular interest to immigrant artists (but open to everyone). Each newsletter, we also feature a member of NYFA's immigrant artist community, and the Helpful Tips section focuses in on a specific issue or topic confronted by immigrant artists.

The Mentoring Program for Immigrant Artists offers foreign-born emerging artists an opportunity to gain assistance in navigating the New York art world and advancing their artistic career through an in-depth, one-on-one relationship with a NYFA Fellow over the course of a six-month mentorship.
Our Cultural Community Workshops series offers practical seminars and engaging panel conversations on themes responsive to the expressed needs of immigrant artists on a variety of topics, from grantwriting to legal assistance to identity-specific funding opportunities.
In the online Resources for Immigrant Artists directory, we have compiled a list of useful links for immigrant artists. Here you can find information on everything from health insurance and legal help to exhibiting opportunities and borough arts council sites.
